WHO released the first ever World report on ageing and health and the Global strategy and action plan on ageing and health that was adopted by the 2016 World Health Assembly. These two milestone documents introduced a new concept called intrinsic capacity. However, the clinical utility of the concept is less understood. During the next ICFSR: WHO Symposium: Healthy Ageing and Integrated Care for Older People will brings together global experts in the area of geriatrics, musculoskeletal, and public health to introduce WHO’s new clinical concept (intrinsic capacity), biological theory underpinning the idea, operational definition for clinical population, evidence for cost-effective intervention, and integrated care model for implementation. Also, the symposium will launch new WHO clinical guideline on integrated care for older people.
